Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions that we are frequently asked that you might also have!

If your question does not appear here, feel free to give us a call at (619)-348-3125!

What is a Livescan?

A Livescan is a criminal background check that can be required by certain companies or licensing boards. It checks the criminal database of both the DOJ and FBI (depending on the level of service).

How much does a Livescan cost?

Our service/rolling fee is $29. However, depending on your application there may be varying state fees. FINAL PRICE MAY VARY.

How long does it take to get the results back?

The results will be sent directly to the Requested Agency (your employer/licensing board). Average processing time is around 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS, however, there are factors that may cause this to change (i.e. you are from out of state or have something in your record).

I lost my form and my employers are asking for it, can you send it to me?

We do NOT email or mail your livescan forms out. Once you are in the office, we advise you to take a picture of the form in case you do lose it. If you failed to take a picture of the form and still cannot find it, you can come into the office with an ID and we can print out a new copy for $2 CASH! Please call in advance to see if we still have your form.

I did my Livescan over a year ago and need a copy, do you still have it?

We are legally required by the Department of Justice to shred Livescan Applications after 11 MONTHS. We do NOT keep your forms past that time frame and there would be NO OTHER WAY to obtain the application.

My employer still has not received the results.

On your REQUEST FOR LIVESCAN FORMS, there is a unique ATI NUMBER located in the section that we fill out. This can be used as a tracking number on the official Department of Justice website (https://applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov/). You simply put the ATI NUMBER, with your DATE OF BIRTH, and it will show the exact date each department completed your application. Once the status says COMPLETED, the results have been sent to your employer/licensing board.

I failed my Livescan and need to resubmit.

If you, for whatever reason, fail the livescan you will be sent a REJECTION LETTER directly from the DOJ. It will state the exact reason why it failed and will ask you to resubmit. You must then bring the REJECTION LETTER & ORIGINAL LIVESCAN FORM to the office to resubmit. If you originally did the livescan with us, it will be completely free of charge. If you did NOT originally do that livescan with us and need a resubmission, you must pay the $29 service fee.

I need ink fingerprints done but don't have the ink card.

If you need an FD-258 ink card, we do provide them in office for an additional $2 each card. This is the only ink card we provide/process.

I need a document written up to notarize, do you do that?

We as notary publics do NOT write up documents, we verify your identity in person and must visual see you sign your document. DO NOT SIGN DOCUMENT BEFORE ARRIVING. If you sign the document before heading to the office you may be turned away and asked to bring a new document unsigned.

Add a footnote if this applies to your business
